Work with Me

Sometimes you need someone in the room who can see what’s really going on.

I work with leaders, teams and organisations on the human side of getting difficult things done. On the conversations people are avoiding, the culture that isn’t quite matching the one on the slide, the relationships getting in the way or the pressure that’s changing how people behave.

Keynotes & Talks

I speak about leadership as it’s actually practised, not as we’d like to imagine it is.

I talk about trust, power, relationships and judgement, the gap between intention and impact, and what happens to culture when the pressure is real and everyone’s best intentions meet organisational reality.

For conferences, leadership events and organisations that want people to think differently after I’ve left the room.

Workshops & Retreats

Some things need more than a keynote.

I work with leadership teams and groups who want to get underneath what’s actually happening and not just get through another team day.

We’ll surface what isn’t being said, make sense of the dynamics underneath it, and work on the conversations, relationships and leadership practices that need to change.

Practical enough to use and human enough to survive contact with actual people.

Leadership Advisory

You probably don’t need another framework; you could do with someone outside the system who can see what’s going on inside it.

I work with leaders and leadership teams when something important needs thinking through: a relationship that’s become difficult, a team dynamic they can’t quite read, a decision that won’t resolve, a cultural issue, a transition, or the nagging sense that the problem everyone is discussing isn’t actually the problem.

I listen, notice patterns, challenge assumptions, ask the question that maybe no one has asked yet and tell you what I see.

Sometimes that looks like coaching or advice; other times it’s getting the right people in a room and helping the real issue surface.

The point isn’t the format. It’s about getting underneath the complexity and finding enough clarity to know what to do next, so that talented people can get on with doing good work.

The Confident Manager

Not every kind of working together requires us to be in the same room.

The Confident Manager is my practical audio programme for managers who want useful help with the human realities of leading people — there when they need it, and designed to fit into the working day.

The Common Thread

However we work together, I’m interested in what helps people get good work done and what gets in the way.

The relationships, conversations and dynamics around the work can consume enormous amounts of energy. Or they can free people up to put that energy, commitment and talent into the work itself.

If that’s the work you need to do, get in touch.
